FLOTILLA
This film was commissioned by Owen Lowery and is an interpretation of his poem, Flotilla. Anna and Owen collaborated on interpreting each other’s work for several years. Owen was formerly a British Judo champion who suffered a spinal injury while competing and became tetraplegic. The poem is a response to his sense of impotence whilst watching the filmed horrors of life on the TV and internet. His poetry appeared in Stand and PN Review, and has been listed in the Bridport Prize, the Welsh Open Poetry Competition, the Virginia Warbey Prize, and the International Sonnet Competition. He is published by Carcanet.
Owen died in 2021.
