COCHINEAL: Tara Downs invited me to contribute to her Miniature Museum ‘Water Cabinet. I created a mini cochineal installation with two films presented on tiny screens.
Tara writes: …A recent evolution of the ‘Water’ cabinet for Material Flow sees the addition of an artist’s drawer which has featured a guest collaboration with debut guest artist Anna Cady on the theme of cochineal.
This installation was made in response to Patricia Brien’s callout for Material Flow in The Museum in the Park, Stroud for Wool and Water. The exhibition celebrates, or comments on, Stroud’s historic textile industry in particular the scarlet cloth of the Redcoats, the colonial project and trade, and industrial histories.
